A Cloth Shop That Grew With Machilipatnam

Ramalakshmana Clothstore sells women's wear, men's wear and home furnishing, both over the counter and in bulk to retailers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The shop has stood at Koneru Center, Robertsonpeta since 1950. What began as cloth sold by the yard is now three departments, a tailoring unit and a wholesale counter — with the same family behind it.

How The Shop Grew

1950
The first counter opens at Koneru Center, selling handloom cloth by the yard.
1968
The second generation joins and wholesale supply to district retailers begins.
1985
A dedicated saree hall opens. Buying moves direct to weaving families.
1998
An in-house tailoring unit starts and the ladies readymade range launches.
2010
Home furnishing becomes its own department — bedsheets, towels, curtains.
2019
Manufacturing scales to around half the women's range.
2024
The wholesale catalogue moves to WhatsApp ordering.
Today
The full range is online, delivered pan-India, with the counter still open in Machilipatnam.

Cut And Stitched By Us

Our unit handles cutting, stitching and finishing for kurtis, kurta sets and readymade blouses. Working from our own floor means we control fabric, fit and the price we can offer a wholesale buyer.
